The Collection of The Salvation Army Museum Basel contains dozens of Medals, Tokens and Coins.

Coins are a lawful tool in commerce and have a value. In modern times, the common worth value of the coin has been stamped upon the coin. Medals remember an event or honor a person. Medals are not used as currency and are as such, not as common. Tokens are minted by private persons for a special usage. Tokens count as means of payment for a limited group of people.
